Crisis Resilience Fund

The Crisis Resilience Fund (CRF) is a new three year UK government scheme that launched in England on 1 April 2026.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced a new three-year funding scheme for residents, which is being delivered through local councils.

The Crisis Resilience Fund (CRF) replaces the Household Support Fund and Discretionary Housing Payments. It brings them both together in the new scheme to support residents.

Funded by UK Government logo

The CRF will run from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029 and is made up of four key elements:

Crisis Payments

Providing emergency financial support for people in crisis, including same-day or 48-hour grants for essential items.

Visit the Crisis Resilience Fund Crisis Payment Scheme page for more information.

Housing Payments

Offering financial assistance to households experiencing a shortfall in their housing costs, helping prevent homelessness or housing instability.

Visit the Crisis Resilience Fund Housing Payment Scheme page for more information.

Resilience Services

Providing services delivered by councils or external providers aimed at improving financial resilience, stability, and independence.

Community Coordination

Strengthening local communities by bringing together voluntary and community sector organisations to support individuals.
