The Mayor's Charities
During his year as Mayor Jim Beall is working to raise awareness and much needed funds for his chosen charities.
The Mayor's chosen charities this year are North East Autism Society, which has recently opened a school in Roseworth, and Eastern Ravens Trust, which supports disadvantaged children and young people including young carers.

North East Autism Society
North East Autism Society passionately believe that autistic children and adults have significant skills and strengths, which can be developed throughout their lifetime.
Their approach aims to support individuals to participate in society as independent and valued citizens, enjoying equal rights and opportunities but also enriching the world around them.
Their services include education for children aged 3-19, post-16 education and social/vocational training, along with supported and open employment opportunities for adults. Within their care services, they provide year-round residential placements and supported living services. They also work directly with parents and carers, offering family support which includes short breaks, support in the home, and evening and weekend activities.

Eastern Ravens Trust
Eastern Ravens Trust (ERT) has been providing support to local children, young people and their families in the Stockton-on-Tees Borough for over 60 years. At the heart of their work is those who experience social isolation and disadvantage in our communities.
One of the key areas of work for the organisation is supporting young carers and their families. Eastern Ravens Trust set up the first ever pioneering and innovative young carers support service in Stockton-on-Tees in April 2000.
Young carers are children and young people under 18 who regularly provide or intend to provide care for another person. This may be in the form of emotional and/or practical support and assistance for family members who are disabled, physically or mentally unwell, or who misuse substances.
