Our Bereavement Services team can offer information and guidance to support you to prepare your own funeral wishes or plan the funeral of a loved one.

Your funeral wishes
To help you make decisions about your funeral, we have produced a 'Please consider my wishes for my funeral' leaflet. This gives you the opportunity to make your own choices and ensures your friends and family are prepared.

Help with funeral expenses
You may be eligible for a Funeral Expenses Payment if you get certain benefits and need help to pay for a funeral you're arranging.
Check if you are eligible on the government website.
A Funeral Expenses Payment can help pay for some of the costs of the following:
- burial fees for a particular plot
- cremation fees, including the cost of the doctor's certificate
- travel to arrange or go to the funeral
- the cost of moving the body within the UK, if it's being moved more than 50 miles
- death certificates or other documents
