Yarm Town Hall

The Council has approved resources to support the refurbishment of Yarm Town Hall in partnership with Yarm Town Council.

Levelling Up Funding will also be used for the redevelopment of the Town Hall into a visitor centre and community learning space, incorporating a gallery and new public toilets.

A planning application for the refurbishment of Yarm Town Hall was approved in 2022.

Refurbishment timeline

Work on the refurbishment of the Town Hall into a heritage centre and learning area began in January 2023.

Under the plans, the Town Hall will have a full external restoration to include the opening up and reinstatement of its original brick arches with new glazing. 

It is the first time in over 100 years that the arches have been reopened in the Grade II listed building.
