Councillor Lisa Evans, Leader of the Council
Hello everyone, I hope you are well.
This week I have been attending the Local Government Association (LGA) Annual Conference in Bournemouth, so Councillor Paul Rowling has stepped in as Deputy Leader of the Council to kindly cover my duties.
Councillor Paul Rowling, Deputy Leader of the Council
My week began with the Members Advisory Panel.
On Tuesday, I attended the Pride in Place Board Meeting. Pride in Place is a government strategy aiming to create safer, healthier neighbourhoods where communities can thrive. Although the Stockton Waterfront Urban Park has gone a great way to achieving this, our work is never done, and we are excited to work towards new initiatives for our Borough.
I then joined a Corporate Management Team (CMT) and Cabinet briefing.
I had a quieter day midweek, allowing me some time to catch up with important items and paperwork.
Yesterday I joined a Member Induction Session for the Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA).
In the evening, I attended the Mayor's Quiz at The Olive Branch. The quiz night is a fantastic fundraising event for the Mayor's two chosen charities: NeoAngels, a local charity supporting families of sick and premature babies cared for on the neonatal units at the University Hospitals of North Tees and James Cook, and Autism Matters, a Teesside-based charitable organisation supporting Autistic adults through services designed by Autistic adults.
Today I am attending some Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) Member Training.
I hope you have a great weekend.
