Hello everyone, I hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend and managed to enjoy the gorgeous weather.
On Tuesday I joined Chris McDonald MP to meet with Andrew Cammiss and Lee Moore from East Durham Veterans Trust for a visit to the new Veterans Hub that is located on the riverside in Stockton. It was good to speak to ex Armed Forces members who were accessing the facilities there.
I then met the communications team from Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) to film a video on the Youth Trailblazer scheme.
Later in the day I attended a member's briefing session.
On Wednesday I met with colleagues from the TVCA to discuss my Education, Employment and Skills Portfolio.
I then attended a No Limits Hub meeting where corporate parents meet with our care leavers.
Yesterday I had catch ups with several councillors and had a pre agenda meeting to discuss plans for our next Corporate Parenting Board. The rest of my day was spent catching up on emails and casework.
Today, I have a rare day off and am travelling to York with family for a day out.
Tomorrow I am looking forward to visiting our young person's market in Wellington Square. Organised by our great markets team, the event offers young people the opportunity to have a stall and showcase their products. Cllr Richard Eglington will have the difficult task of selecting a winning stall who will then progress to a regional final in Newcastle in June.
Whatever you are doing, I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
