Yarm and Stockton Town Centre Parking Consultation
In October 2024, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet approved the removal of the first free hour of car parking across Council owned car parks in Stockton and Yarm.

Description
The decision was taken with the aim of balancing the need to cover the costs of maintaining and managing car parking, with ensuring the Borough's town centres remain appealing to shoppers and visitors.
At that time, Cabinet also committed to reviewing the new arrangement at a future date.
As part of the review we asked to hear from residents, visitors, local businesses and their customers to gain a thorough understanding of the impact the change has have since it was implemented in February 2025.
The views shared will form part of the detailed review, alongside information and data from other sources, such as footfall and dwell time data.
Results and outcomes
Awaiting outcome from the consultation. The review findings will be considered by the Council's Cabinet in December 2025.
