Tributes following death of Honorary Alderman Jeremy Atkinson

Tributes have been made to former Councillor, Jeremy Atkinson, who has died this week.

First elected to Cleveland County Council in 1989, Jeremy served as a Councillor in the former Egglescliffe Ward from 1995 to 2003.

He was awarded Honorary Alderman status by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council in 2015.

Widowed, Jeremy leaves behind six children and a number of grandchildren.

The Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Stephen Richardson, said: "The thoughts of everyone at the Council are with Jeremy's friends and family at this very sad time."
