Free boiler servicing - get winter ready
Servicing your boiler regularly is important to keep it in top condition for the colder months, especially for those who are elderly, vulnerable or living with young children.
As part of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Warm Homes Healthy People scheme, we are offering free boiler servicing to eligible residents across the Borough for 3 months from July to September 2023.
Do you qualify?
You could qualify if you are the homeowner, are in receipt of a means-tested benefit and if you are any of the following:
- 65 or over and in receipt of a means-tested benefit
- under 65 and in receipt of a means-tested benefit as well as one of the following:
- in receipt of disability benefits
- have a long-term illness made worse by the cold
- live with a child (under 5) who has a long-term illness made worse by the cold
- living with a dementia condition
- have not previously accessed the service in the last 2 years
What are means tested benefits?
Means tested benefits include:
- Council Tax Reduction
- Income-based Employment Support Allowance
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income Support
- Pension Guarantee Credit
- Universal Credit
- Working Tax or Child Tax Credit (with an annual income of £16,190 or less)

Emergency heating
In a heating emergency Cleveland Fire Brigade can provide heaters and other equipment and can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 01429 874063.
