Conduct of Councillors

A code of conduct helps to makes sure that our councillors do the right things in a timely, inclusive, open, honest and accountable manner.

Complaints about Members 

Anyone can submit a complaint about a councillor who has breached the Members' Code of Conduct. Complaints should be sent to the Council's Monitoring Officer who considers the lawfulness and fairness of Council decision-making, ensuring compliance with codes and protocols as well as promoting good governance and high ethical standards.

  • emailing 
  • phoning 01642 527521 between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday
  • writing to Information Governance Team at Information and Improvement, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, Church Road, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 1LD.
