Stockton Volunteers' Market makes a return from 10am until 3pm on Monday, June 4, inside the marquee on Stockton High Street.

Visitors will celebrate the contribution of dedicated volunteers, and they will be able to meet local charities and find out what they offer in the community.

Stockton Volunteers is a project run by Catalyst Stockton-on-Tees, the focal point for the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector in the Borough.

Catalyst offers practical advice and support to a range of voluntary and community groups.

Last year 55 charities and organisations across the Borough joined together to share information and experiences with the aim of recruiting more volunteers.

There will also be craft and food stalls, as well as live music.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Access, Communities and Community Safety, Councillor Steve Nelson, said: "The market brings together a range of good causes who are all there to recognise those who give up their time to volunteer.

"It is a chance to share examples of the great work going on in the Borough, and hopefully inspire others to get involved and give something back to their community.

"Stockton High Street is playing host to some very exciting events this year, and our programme of markets has so far attracted huge crowds."

Project lead from Catalyst, Lesley Makin, said: "The market is such a great annual event, with a huge range of volunteering opportunities available. It's a chance to showcase the diversity of the sector. We look forward to seeing you on Monday."
