Locality forums

The Locality Forums feed into the Stockton Local Strategic Partnership Board. These include the following boards.

 

Northern Locality Forum

The Northern Locality Forum covers the areas of Billingham, Wynyard, Wolviston and outlying areas.

The Chair of this partnership (Kevin Pitt) represents the Northern Locality Forum on the Stockton Strategic Partnership, ensuring residents within the Northern Locality Forum boundary are included in the decision making structure for the borough.

Role and function

The Northern Locality Forum is responsible for:

Bringing together representatives of the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to champion and support the delivery of the Stockton Strategic Partnership priorities of ‘Ensuring Every Child Receives the Best Start in Life’ and ‘Maximising Family Income’ via a task and finish group approach.

Membership

The Forum's membership is currently comprised of 24 representatives, which are drawn from the voluntary sector, community sector, rural representatives, public sector (including Cleveland Police), private sector, BME representatives and the Disability Advisory Group.

Each member is considered an equal and active partner and holds office for a fixed period of two years.

Central Locality Forum

The Central Locality Forum covers the areas of Hardwick, Bishopsgarth and Elm Tree, Fairfield, Hartburn, Grangefield, Parkfield and Oxbridge, Stockton Town Centre, Roseworth, Newtown, Norton and surrounding villages including Stillington, Carlton, Redmarshall, Thorpe Thewles and Whitton.

The Chair of the Forum (Suzanne Fletcher) represents the Central Locality Forum on the Stockton Strategic Partnership, ensuring residents within the Central Locality Forum boundary are included in the decision making structure for the borough.

Role and function

The Central Locality Forum is responsible for:

Bringing together representatives of the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to champion and support the delivery of the Stockton Strategic Partnership priorities of ‘Ensuring Every Child Receives the Best Start in Life’ and ‘Maximising Family Income’ via a task and finish group approach.

Membership

The Forum's membership is currently comprised of 27 representatives, which are drawn from the voluntary sector, community sector, rural representatives, public sector (including Cleveland Police), private sector, BME representatives and the Disability Advisory Group.

Each member is considered an equal and active partner and holds office for a fixed period of two years.

Eastern Locality Forum

The Eastern Locality Forum covers the areas of Thornaby, Ingleby Barwick, Hilton, Maltby and surrounding villages.

The Chair of this Forum (Cllr Tracey Stott), represents the Eastern Locality Forum on the Stockton Strategic Partnership, ensuring residents within the Eastern Locality Forum boundary are included in the decision making structure for the borough.

Role and function

The Eastern Locality Forum is responsible for:

Bringing together representatives of the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to champion and support the delivery of the Stockton Strategic Partnership priorities of ‘Ensuring Every Child Receives the Best Start in Life’ and ‘Maximising Family Income’ via a task and finish group approach.

Western Locality Forum

The Western Locality Forum covers the areas of Yarm, Eaglescliffe, Kirklevington, Long Newtown, Elton and surrounding villages.

The Chair of the Western Locality Forum is Councillor Phil Dennis who represents the Forum on Stockton Strategic Partnership, ensuring residents within the Western Locality Forum boundary are included within the decision making structure for the Borough.

Role and function

The Western Locality Forum is responsible for:

Bringing together representatives of the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to champion and support the delivery of the Stockton Strategic Partnership priorities of ‘Ensuring Every Child Receives the Best Start in Life’ and ‘Maximising Family Income’ via a task and finish group approach.

Membership
