Locality forums

The Locality Forums aim to bring together representatives from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors, to champion and support our continued commitment to help our communities and protect those most vulnerable.

The Borough of Stockton on Tees has four Locality Forum areas:

  •  Northern – Billingham, Wynyard, Wolviston and outlying areas
  •  Central – Hardwick, Bishopsgarth, Elm Tree, Fairfield, Hartburn, Grangefield, Parkfield and Oxbridge,  Stockton Town Centre, Roseworth, Newtown , Norton and surrounding villages
  •  Eastern – Ingleby Barwick, Thornaby, Hilton, Maltby and surrounding villages
  •  Western – Yarm, Eaglescliffe, Kirklevington, Long Newton, Elton and surrounding villages

The Forums meet bi-monthly and offer a friendly and informal way to network with other organisations and partners working in the Borough. Some of the Locality Forum Key Achievements include:

  • Over 300 plus winter coats collected for Foodbanks and local charities
  • Over 350 people engaged at Locality Forum Advice days
  • Piloted 'Period Poverty' programme to support local residents. 


Winter is Coming

The Locality Forums have set up a series of pop up events across the borough to support and signpost residents to services and advice to help them get winter ready and prepare for when the temperature drops.

The events will bring together a wide range of services under the umbrella of getting winter ready and will be held in local venues or town centre shop fronts across the borough. The main aims of the events are to keep residents warm, well and encourage them to stay safe during the colder weather.

Thursday 11 October 2018 – The Wilson Centre Long Newton, 11 am – 12 noon

Monday 15 October 2018 – Billingham Town Centre 10 am – 12 noon

Wednesday 24 October 2018 – Rediscover Shop, Stockton Town Centre, 11am – 1pm

Wednesday 21 November 2018 – Egglescliffe Community Centre 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm (Part of a wider Over 65s event)
