Storytime in Stockton

14 February 2017

The Lord Lieutenant of County Durham turned storyteller yesterday (Monday) morning in Stockton Town Centre.

The Lord Lieutenant of County Durham turned storyteller Ken Dixon at storytime

Mrs Sue Snowdon was joined by the Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Ken Dixon at DRAKE - The Bookshop on Silver Street.

Children at the story telling session were thoroughly entertained by Mrs Snowdon's interactive rendition of 'Piranhas Don't Eat Bananas' by Aaron Blabey and Nick Sharratt favourite, 'Shark in the Park'.

With telescopes at the ready the young people listened carefully, eager to hear if Timothy Pope could really see a shark through his brand new telescope.

Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Ken Dixon, said: "I would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Snowdon for reading to the children.  What a fantastic morning we all had.  It was a lot of fun and wonderful to see the children captivated by the stories."

Owner of DRAKE - The Bookshop, Richard Drake, said: "We would like to thank Mrs Snowdon, the Mayor and Mayoress for taking the time to join us at the start of half term. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it seemed like Mrs Snowdon was in her element!"
