Stockton pupils get silly at author session
SCHOOLCHILDREN from Oxbridge Lane Primary, St Bede's Catholic Academy and Bowesfield Primary enjoyed an hour of stories and belly laughs with acclaimed author Jim Smith this week (Tuesday 7 February).

More than 200 pupils were enthralled by the Roald Dahl Funny Prize winner, who introduced the youngsters to his 'Barry Loser' series - sharing funny stories from the books and teaching them how to draw Barry and his friends.
Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: "It's fantastic to see some of our young people really engaging with the joys of storytelling and illustration.
"This author session is the latest in a series of inspiring events organised by our Libraries service. They do such great work in organising these sessions which give pupils the opportunity to meet authors in the flesh and be directly influenced by their passion for their craft.
"I'm sure the pupils will now continue on with their own journey of reading, writing and enjoying books."
