Online forms to request a discount or change your Council Tax instalments. If you need to contact us about your Council Tax account, please choose one of the following forms.


Single person discount

If you are 18 or over and live on your own you may qualify for a 25% discount.

Disabled relief application

If you or someone who lives with you has a disability, and your home has been significantly adapted to meet the needs of a disabled person, you may qualify for a reduction in your Council Tax Bill.

Change your 10 monthly instalments to weekly, fortnightly or 12 monthly.

Refund Application

If you have been notified that your Council Tax account is in credit, you can apply for a refund.

Exemption Class B Application

Some properties are exempt from Council Tax. If you are a Charitable Organisation you may be eligible for a discount.

People in prison (except those in prison for non-payment of Council Tax or a fine) may be eligible for a discount or exemption.

If you or someone who lives with you is a youth trainee you may be entitled to a Council Tax Discount.

Change of address


Moving to or within the Stockton Borough area

If you are moving into or within the Stockton Borough area please tell us.

We will need to know your personal details and information about your move. We can then ensure that your Council Tax liability starts on the correct date.

You can also share information about your move with other Stockton Council services if you would like us to.

If you are moving away from the Stockton Borough area please tell us and we will make the necessary arrangements to amend your Council Tax liability. You may be entitled to a refund depending on when you are moving.

You should tell us if your home circumstances change as this may affect your Council Tax liability. Changes that you should tell us about are:

  • If you get married
  • If someone moves into or out of your home
  • When a young person who lives in your home turns 18
