June 2018

A busy week so far. Tuesday evening Paul and I were invited to Stockton Riverside College to the Art and Design show. The display of art, collage, papier mache, graphics, textiles and photography produced by the level 1 to level 3 students was amazing. As always I was proud that we have that level of talent in our area, well done to all the students.

Wednesday morning I welcomed the Stockton LiveWell Veterans Group to our Town Hall in Stockton. Veterans with dementia and their carers were given a tour of the Town Hall. The highlight of the visit was being asked to unveil the beautiful mosaic created by the Alzheimers Veterans themselves. With the words 'Lest we Forget' and a field of poppies it is an amazing creation and i am hoping it will soon be on display in the central library for everyone to admire.

Wednesday evening we were at the Swan in Billingham to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our foster carers. I presented certificates and flowers to many wonderful people who shared their homes and lives with young people in need of parents. I met all the families and was amazed by their dedication. One award was for a couple who had spent the last 37 years fostering. Foster parents really do change young peoples' lives.
