Attended Drake the Bookshop, Silver Street, Stockton where the Lord Lieutenant of Durham Sue Snowden did readings for a group of children. What an entertaining session, the Lord Lieutenant even had me enthralled with her renditions from the readings. This is just another example where an enterprise gets involved in the community. Well done to Drake for putting on such an event.

Attended Strictly Valentine 1940s Vintage Tea Dance that was held in the large marquee in the High Street, Stockton. This event is the first put on by the Stockton BID team and it was sold out a week after being advertised, the Paul James Band played whilst there was a special guest appearance of Giovanni Pernice from the Strictly Come Dancing programme. Giovanni gave a fantastic display of dancing skills which eclipsed my dad dancing. I took along with me Michelle who assists me in my weekly duties as she is an avid fan of the programme especially Giovanni, I think it was safe to say she was awestruck and still hasn’t come down from cloud 9! This is the first of fantastic events planned by the BID team so keep a look out for the future programme so as not to be disappointed.

Attended the Town hall where I hosted the monthly citizenship Ceremony. Again it was great to see such a mix of people from all over the world settling in our community and taking an oath of allegiance to the Queen and country.
Attended the Mayor of Northumberland Charity Bowling night at Concordia Leisure Centre, Cramlington. All the dignitaries took on each other, I was doing well until I pulled a muscle in my arm (that’s my excuse). It was an excellent night with monies raised for charity.
