Today I met with Richard McGuckin, Director of Economic Growth and Development Services and a representative of Stockton Town Centre’s Wellington Square to discuss a range of issues including ongoing planning matters.
This evening I will attend a governor meeting at Norton Primary Academy.
Tomorrow I will be joining Chris Smith, Executive Director of Service Delivery and Development at Thirteen Group to speak to BBC reporter David Macmillan about the future funding of social housing and what this will mean for residents in Stockton-on-Tees.
Throughout the afternoon I will be joining Chief Executive of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Neil Schneider, as we accompany the High Sheriffs of Durham and North Yorkshire on a tour around the Borough. Both High Sheriffs were appointed earlier in the year so we will use the opportunity to show them what Stockton-on-Tees has to offer as well as taking them to meet with some of Stockton-on-Tees’ businesses.
In the evening I will be going to the North East Chamber of Commerce’s Tees Valley annual dinner. The event is a good opportunity to meet with a wide range of businesses from across the region.
On Friday I will be catching up with work in the office as well as joining Neil Schneider for a regular catch up with Alex Cunningham MP. I will also be attending a Tees Valley Combined Authority board meeting and a meeting with all the Tees Valley Council Leaders.
Middlesbrough return to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday looking to keep on improving their league position with a home game against Brentford. It feels like Boro are really starting to gel together now and hopefully they can become one of the best teams in the league if they continue to develop as a side.
Back to work on Monday and I will have my usual meeting with the Leader, Councillor Jim Beall and Neil Schneider to discuss the issues arising and the business coming forward for the next week. I will also meet with Margaret Waggott, Assistant Director of Administration, Democratic and Electoral Services for our regular catch up meeting to discuss issues within her area. In the afternoon I will meet Cabinet colleagues ahead of the next Cabinet meeting which will take place on 12 October.
