I’ve got a busy day few days ahead this week including a Members’ Advisory Panel this morning which will be a great opportunity to hear more about the latest on the internet, telephone and other electronic equipment I use daily for my Council work. After that, I have an update meeting with Director of Finance and Business Services, Garry Cummings before sitting on an appointment panel as part of the recruitment for an Assistant Director of Adult Strategy and Transformation.
On Thursday I will chair a meeting of the Council’s Cabinet, among the agenda items is a report about the work the Council is doing to engage young people and help better understand what it feels like to be a young person growing up in our Borough. I’m looking forward to meeting some of the young people who are presenting the report and hear more about their hopes, ideas and plans for the future.
At the end of the week I’ll catch up with Alex Cunningham MP ahead of joining my counterparts from across the area at the Tees Valley Council Leaders Group to brief one another on important developments.
It’s been three games without a defeat for Middlesbrough so I’m hoping to see them continue their winning ways at home to Brentford on Saturday as well as spending time with my family before travelling to London early next week for the Local Government Association’s Children and Young People Board.
