Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council

Big plans, bright future

July 2019

Wednesday 31 July 2019

SIRF is back this week and I’m looking forward to seeing as much of it as I can, starting with the launch tomorrow.  It’s always a great four days and I’m sure this year will be no exception with a packed programme of more than 150 performances.

Towards the end of the week I’ll be visiting Thornaby based charity, Five Lamps, to hear about some of the great work they are doing to support our communities.

I’ll be at home watching Middlesbrough kick-off their EFL Championship season at Kenilworth Road on Friday night.  I’ve got high hopes for this season and I’m confident we can get to winning ways from the off.

Early next week Deputy Leader, Councillor Jim Beall and I will have our regular catch-up with the Council’s Interim Managing Director, Julie Danks and that afternoon I’ll have my quarterly update on the Norton Park housing development.

On Tuesday I’ll be meeting the Council’s Director of Economic Growth and Development, Richard McGuckin and members of his team for my monthly briefing to keep me informed about various projects and issues across Stockton Borough ahead of joining Julie Danks for a discussion with Chief Superintendent, Alison Jackson from Cleveland Police.
