Today brought about a board meeting of the Tees Valley Combined Authority over at Cavendish House in Teesdale. The board is made up of representatives from the five Tees Valley local authorities and the chair of Tees Valley Unlimited, the local enterprise partnership for our area. One of the items on the agenda is a report on brownfield land in the Tees Valley.
On Thursday and Friday I will be taking the opportunity to catch up with some Council paperwork in the office.
The upcoming bank holiday weekend sees so much going on across our Borough as part of our year-round events programme.
On Sunday and Monday, the always popular Summer Show returns to Preston Park Museum and Grounds. Running between 11am and 5pm each day, there’ll be a packed market area with craft and food stalls, a fun fair and an arena full of performances including Atkinson Action Horses, Ridgeside Lurcher Display, Whizoo Falconry and the ever entertaining Sheep & Dog Shows. Entry costs £5 for adults, £2.50 for under 16s and concessions while those aged five and under go free.
Sunday also sees the Wildcats of Kilkenny celebrate their 25th anniversary with a family performance at Trinity Gardens in Stockton. Tickets cost £16 for adults and £5 for children and the event includes performances from the Stockton Town Choir, Urban Kaos’ Family Disco, The Phat Tyrtles and the Wildcats themselves. It’s set to be a great summer weekend of events in Stockton-on-Tees and I’d encourage everyone to come down and enjoy the long break right here on our doorstep.
