Revamp of Redhill Road shops is now complete

Shoppers visiting Redhill Road Shops will notice improvements have been made to the paving, benches, bins and landscaping around the parade.  Trees have been planted and improvements have been made at the nearby bus stop, including a new dropped kerb crossing point for pedestrians. 

The works at Redhill Road shops have been carried out by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council as part of a Borough-wide shopping parade enhancement programme. 

The Council is also carrying out works on footpaths at the front of High Newham Court in Hardwick to improve safety for pedestrians. Work to rejuvenate Windlestone Road in Billingham is expected to start this week with the introduction of new paving, seating, trees and additional parking. 

Thirteen Group, the owner of several shops on Redhill Road, is also due to carry out work, particularly to the canopies above their shops on the parade. 

Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: "We have invested in this improvement programme to shopping parades across the Borough because we know how much local residents value the shops in their communities. It is important that they are kept in a good state of repair so people can enjoy shopping there and can access them easily."
