If you would like to take advantage of the fantastic library facilities, membership is easy and we operate an 'open to all policy' which means anyone who lives, works or visits the Borough is welcome to make use of the services on offer.

To join the library you will need to complete a simple membership form with your name, address, contact number and date of birth and return it to a library in person with one form of identification e.g. driving license, utility bill, pension book, payslip. Under 16's also require a signature from a parent/guardian.

In Person

Visit any of our branches and complete a membership form. You will be required to produce some identification and proof of address.

About your Library Card

Once your membership has been processed you will be issued with a library card. Remember to bring your card with you when visiting a library and take care of it, if you lose your card there is a replacement charge. If you do not have your card when visiting a library you will be asked to show a form of identification before borrowing items.

Please inform us if your card is lost or stolen or if your personal details change. Do not lend your card to anyone else, as you are responsible for any items borrowed on it.

But above all have fun and enjoy the facilities we have to offer!
