In line with the Government Roadmap, from Monday 12 April the following Libraries will reopen to the public:
- Stockton Central
- Billingham
- Thornaby Central
- Ingleby Barwick
- Norton
- Yarm
During lockdowns we have been extending loan periods for all items to ensure that our customers were not building up charges on their accounts and to address any concerns that people may have in relation to Library charges. Staff will manage any charges that have slipped through this process as they are returned.
Services offered within libraries from 12 April include:
- Book returns
- Limited browsing (20 minutes)
- ICT access (45 minutes pre booked)
- Reservations
- Click and Collect
- Photocopying
- Printing
- Laminating
Please Note: It is mandatory to wear face masks in libraries and you will be required to sanitise your hands on entering the library.
To keep you and our staff safe, numbers permitted within libraries have been reduced. Once we reach this figure, we will operate a 1-in-1-out system.
Returned books are quarantined for 72 hours before being re-shelved. Please place your returned books on the trolley provided at the entrance to the library.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
All libraries are required to record details for Test and Trace for all people over the age of 16 years. These details are retained for 21 days before being disposed of securely.
