Our libraries offer a wide range of services, from book and ebook lending to free computing facilities, WiFi, events and activities, all in a welcoming environment for everyone.

We aim to provide a quality, relevant, accessible and modern service which is responsive to the needs and lifestyles of the borough’s diverse communities.

We have reading groups for all ages, fun activities for children, families and adults, local and family history studies, basic ICT training with free internet access, plus free Wi-Fi in a number of branches.

How to join a Library

It’s easy to become a member if you want to take advantage of our fantastic library facilities.  Anyone who lives, works or visits the Borough regularly is welcome to join.

There are two ways to join your library:

  • For Digital Membership, which gives you access to eBooks, eAudiobooks and online services, complete this form.
  • For Full Membership, or to change from Digital Membership to Full Membership, visit any of our libraries with one form of identification. Examples of acceptable identification can be found here.

Under 16s will require consent from a parent or carer.

 

About your Library Card

Once you have your library card please remember to bring it with you when you visit. If you lose your card there is a replacement charge.

If you do not have your card when visiting a library you will be asked to show a form of identification before borrowing items or using the ICT facilities.

Please inform us if your card is lost or stolen or if your personal details change. Do not lend your card to anyone else, as you are responsible for any items borrowed on it.
