Independent Safety Advisory Group

Stockton Borough Council has established an Independent Safety Advisory Group (ISAG) to provide guidance and specialist advice to Event Planners and Event Organisers in staging their events and helping them understand their individual responsibilities and those of other agencies e.g. Police, Local Authority. The ISAG's role is to promote and encourage high standards of public safety and wellbeing at events held in the Borough.

All large events in public spaces within the Borough must be assessed by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Independent Safety Advisory Group, providing independent expert assessment of the suitability and robustness of event plans from a health, safety and community impact perspective.

The main principle of the ISAG is to create consistent and coordinated safety processes to oversee and enhance public safety at large public events and gatherings.

If you are planning a large scale event you will need notify the Independent Safety Advisory Group (ISAG), who will provide advice and guidance to support you in staging your event. You can do this online via the following link;
