The Stockton Youth Assembly (SYA) has been established to ensure young people are consulted and that their voices are heard to help the Council shape local services.

The work of the Stockton Youth Assembly provides a voice to young people aged 11-19 (aged up to 25 if a young person has a learning difficulty and/or disability).

The Stockton Youth Assembly is made up of representatives from a wide range of existing youth forums, schools and colleges. They meet every other month with an action packed agenda in a formal meeting, attended also by Council Senior Officers and Elected Members. In between the formal meetings the group have opportunities to engage in regional development sessions which are provided by the British Youth Council and coordinated by the Growing Up Stockton Coordinator.

The Stockton Youth Assembly is chaired by our Member of Youth Parliament Tanisha Roy and her Deputy, Emily Hill.

Visit the Youth Parliament web page for further information.
