Public Health is responsible for protecting the health of the population from communicable diseases, outbreaks and incidents through providing expert advice and support.
The health protection team at Public Health England supports local authorities in providing this service and is available 24/7. The health protection team will respond to queries from professionals and members of the public and offers advice and support on the identification, reporting and management of incidents and outbreaks.
