Stockton Parent Career Forum is a group of parents and carers of children/young people with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (SEND) aged 0-25 who work in partnership with Education, Health and Care Services to make sure the services they plan, commission, deliver and monitor, meet the needs of children and families. We do this through active parent participation. Engaging with parent carers through coffee mornings, training and other events to gather feed back from them about services. We encourage parents participate in the development of services and provide opportunities for them to meet directly with professional.
Our aim is to empower parents carers, improve the quality and availability of information to families, to create opportunities for parent and carers to have their say, to ensure families are involved in the decision making process, to influence the development of local services and to ‘work together’ with all sectors.
