We are proud to be part of the successful and ambitious Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for the Tees Valley, Tees Valley Unlimited (TVU).

Tees Valley Unlimited is the private and public sector Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) striving to deliver jobs and economic growth across the Tees Valley.

This will be achieved by tackling barriers to growth, developing key assets and further creating an environment that encourages economic growth and long term prosperity.

Prior to receiving LEP status, Tees Valley Unlimited had already published a 15 year Statement of Ambition, whereby the local partners would:

  • Drive the transition to a high value, low carbon economy.
  • Create a more diversified and inclusive economy.

The Statement of Ambition sets out some realistic outcomes to be achieved by 2025, these have recently been reviewed and are as follows:

  • Increase GVA per head to 82% of the national average.
  • Increase the number of Enterprises from 241 enterprises to 300 enterprises per 10,000 population an increase of 25% (approx 3,200 net increase)
  • Increase the Employment Rate (63.1%) to meet the national average (70.2%)
  • Increase the number of people with Higher Level Skills by 5% - To be Revised on completion on the Skills Action Plan.

Progress towards these outcomes will be measured on an annual basis.

The statement is deliberately high level and visionary, recognising that our ambition will not change significantly even if all external influences continue to do so. Now with Central Government endorsement, Tees Valley Unlimited presents the Partnership Business Plan which demonstrates how these two ambitions will be achieved.
