Learning, Skills and Employment Support for Employers

Your company, business, or organisation regardless of how big or small could benefit from some of the services we offer.

Stockton Council Learning and Skills Service has delivered learning programmes across the Tees Valley for more than 50 years.  Our tutors are highly qualified, skilled, experienced and friendly offering a bespoke and flexible service tailored to your needs.

An Apprentice is appointed for a minimum of 12 months. They work a minimum of 30 hours per week but no more than 40, salaried on or at least the National Apprenticeship minimum wage. There are currently no other additional costs as support funding can be arranged and we can source and provide suitable applicants for selection. Apprenticeships are available at levels two - five and are available for new and existing staff wanting to upskill. They may be a young apprentice 16 - 18 or an adult 19 - 65. It is your responsibility to issue the young person with a contract of employment. There may be financial incentives available to support employers with the extra costs of taking on apprentices that meet certain criteria (contact us for more information).  Our Employer Engagement team will be happy to meet with you to discuss your training needs and help you prepare a realistic workforce development plan.
