School and Governor Support Service (SGSS) - Training and Development Opportunities
SGSS provides a comprehensive training and development programme which is of high quality and aims to develop the skills and knowledge needed for effective governance in maintained schools, academies and multi academy trusts.
As part of the partnership agreement, all governors will have access to NGA Learning Link which is an online training resource which is provided by National Governors Association (NGA) and is purchased by School and Governor Support.
An academic programme of training courses is produced annually and is available for any governor/director or trustee to access.
The programme covers a wide range of subject areas as well as including, induction training for new governors, Safeguarding, Safer Recruitment, financial management, Special Educational Needs, Complaints and Appeals, Leadership and Management.
In addition to the programme, SGSS provides bespoke training to governing bodies and groups of governors on request. This would be designed to meet your current needs and would be delivered at a time convenient for your governors.
