The Mayors Virtual Ball 2021

As part of the Mayor's fundraising efforts for his three chosen charities, in normal circumstances Mayor Mohammed Javed would have hosted a fundraising ball with dinner and dancing. The Coronavirus pandemic means that the usual plans can't happen this year. However, that doesn't mean that we can't raise money for his three amazing charities.

Fundraising raffle

The Mayor approached Stockon-on-Tees Borough Council staff, local businesses and other would-be attendees of the ball and asked them to help him in his fundraising by entering a raffle or donating prizes. More than £2,000 was raised, and the Mayor is very thankful to everyone who donated prizes or bought tickets.

You can watch the Mayor's speech and the start of the ticket draw below.

Find out if you've won by checking the full list of winning numbers. All winners will be contacted by the Mayor's Office and given details on how to pick up their prize. Thank you to everybody who participated.

The Mayor's Charities

For his Mayoral year, Councillor Mohammed Javed chose three fantastic charities providing life-changing services to people across our Borough. You can find out more about their amazing work in the videos below.

If you would like to support them, there’s still time to make a donation, or volunteer to be one of the 100 Heroes aiming to raise £100 for them to share. For more details contact the Mayor’s Office on 01642 528161 or email [email protected].

Great North Air Ambulance Service

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) brings pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year. The team can only continue to care for patients with your support and is not NHS funded.

Visit the Great North Air Ambulance website for more information.

Halo Project

The Halo Project Charity is a national project that will support victims of honour-based violence, forced marriages and FGM by providing appropriate advice and support to victims. We will also work with key partners to provide required interventions and advice necessary for the protection and safety of victims.
