June 2020

This being the third full month of lockdown my Civic Awards were distributed. Recipients had looked forward to a celebration but it was not to be. Nevertheless the worthy winners need recognition for their contribution and you will be able to see them all in the July virtual edition of Stockton News. I wish them continued success in the future for the good work they have  and continue to do in our communities

The 22nd of June  marks the beginning of Armed Forces Week 2020, when the Armed Forces’ Flag is raised on Town Halls up and down the country. We use the week to celebrate the incredible contributions of all who have served in the British Armed Forces, both past and present.

We all have the opportunity to’ Show Our Support’ and I would encourage you to go to the’ Armed Forces Week’ website where you will find a range of ways to show your support to these fantastic men and women.

This will be my last post as Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, and it’s been an incredible experience. I’m so lucky to have met so many wonderful people, and I’d like to thank you all for joining me on the journey.

My final address to you is one that is very important to me. This week is Armed Forces Week in which we celebrate the men and women who make up the armed forces community.
