Today I made the most of an opportunity to catch up on important Council paperwork in the office.
On Thursday I will meet with Council officers to review the status of welfare reform in our area following the latest statistics being released from the second quarter of the financial year.
After that, it’ll be a real pleasure to attend the Customer Service Excellence Awards in the Jim Cooke Conference Suite. It is always great to be reminded of the fantastic work going across the breadth of the Council to continually provide the best service possible to our residents.
Over the weekend I am looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.
I will be heading to the Riverside on Saturday as Middlesbrough face AFC Bournemouth in a crucial Premier League clash. Boro picked up a marvellous point away at Arsenal last week but they must now build on that performance with a much needed first home win of the season.
Back to work on Monday and I’ll be holding my weekly catch up meeting with the Deputy Leader, Councillor Jim Beall, and the Chief Executive of the Council, Neil Schneider. At these meetings we talk through any emerging issues that need to be brought to each other’s attention and discuss a series of developments from right across Stockton Borough.
Following this I will be travelling up to Durham for a meeting to discuss NHS England’s Sustainability and Transformation Plan. I’ll be joining colleagues from across various North East authorities to review and discuss the development of the plan.
Back in Stockton I’ll then be attending a pre-agenda meeting of Cabinet before the full meeting in November.
