I made the most of the opportunity to catch up on some Council paperwork in the office today.
Tomorrow I will be working on a range of local issues and developments as well as continuing preparations for the important elections we have coming up shortly.
On Friday morning I will be heading across to Cavendish House in Teesdale for a board meeting of the Local Enterprise Partnership and a meeting with the Leaders of Darlington, Hartlepool, and Redcar & Cleveland councils and Middlesbrough’s elected Mayor.
Over the weekend I am looking forward to spending time with my family. Middlesbrough play their last home game of the Premier League season against Southampton on Saturday. It is a big shame that the season hasn’t gone the way that we all wanted it to but hopefully the game itself will be enjoyable as our thoughts start to turn to next season and beyond.
Back to work on Monday and I will be continuing work to prepare for the upcoming elections and looking ahead to important Council business happening in the coming weeks.
On Tuesday I will be joined by the Council’s Chief Executive, Neil Schneider, on a visit to Tata Global Beverages in Eaglescliffe. The company deal in branded natural beverages such as tea, coffee and water. They operate worldwide and it will be very interesting to hear about their success and experience of operating in the Borough as well as their plans for the future.
Following this, I will be heading to Billingham South Community Primary School for a meeting. I am a governor at the school and it is always enjoyable to meet with the pupils and great staff team there to review the latest developments that have been going on.
