LEADER’S BLOG – WEDNESDAY 26 JULY
Today I met with officers to discuss the tender process that is about to begin regarding the supply, installation and maintenance of the equipment that will be used to run the crematorium to be built in Roseworth.
Later in the day I took the opportunity to get on top of some important Council paperwork in my office.
Tomorrow I am travelling to Cavendish House in Teesdale for a board meeting of the Tees Valley Combined Authority. These regular meetings are vital to keep all parties right up to date with the latest developments regarding issues that are moving at pace right across our Borough and beyond.
On Friday I am back at Cavendish House for a meeting of the Tees Valley Leaders and Mayors. The area’s two local MPs are also due to attend so it will be particularly interesting to receive an update from them about their progress in Parliament.
Later on Friday I am looking forward to attending the official opening of the New Start CIC on Hartington Road in Stockton.
Over the weekend I am looking forward to spending time with my family.
Back to work on Monday and I will be getting through more Council business in my office.
On Tuesday I will be joined in my office by Richard McGuckin, Director of Economic Growth and Development, Chris Renahan, Economic Growth Manager and Joanne Fryett, Business Relationship Specialist, to receive a briefing on the progress of a number of major projects happening across the Borough.
In the afternoon, Alastair Simpson, Chief Superintendent of Cleveland Police, will visit the Council’s Chief Executive, Neil Schneider, and I to talk about neighbourhood safety and policing issues.
