Today got underway with a briefing meeting regarding the latest developments with Durham Tees Valley Airport prior to a meeting of the board on Friday morning.
Following this I met with Rachael Scott from Driving Miss Daisy who provide a companion driving service for the elderly, children, disabled and for anyone who is unable to drive. They are of fantastic help to many people and it was great to meet with Rachael and find out more about their great work.
Tomorrow I will meet with Margaret Waggott, the Council’s Assistant Director of Administration, Democratic and Electoral Services, as I receive a briefing on some upcoming items.
On Friday morning I will head over to St George Hotel for the board meeting concerning Durham Tees Valley Airport.
I’ll then head over to Cavendish House in Teesdale for an afternoon meeting of the Tees Valley Leaders and Mayors group. As the Tees Valley Combined Authority continues to grow in its early stages, these meetings are always helpful and beneficial.
Over the weekend I am looking forward to spending some time with my family.
Back to work on Monday and I’ll be taking the opportunity to get to grips with some important Council paperwork and business in my office.
