After a busy start to the year, I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to catch up on some Council business in the office.
Thursday morning brings a telephone interview to discuss the Digital City scheme where I will have the opportunity to present my views on the project as Leader of Stockton Council.
On Thursday afternoon I will attend a meeting on Education Performance, where an update will be given following on from the sessions held in July. The briefing looks in-depth at performance data and reviews the new Ofsted schedule requirements.
Friday morning will largely be spent meeting with the Council's Chief Executive, Neil Schneider, and one of the Borough's MPs to discuss the latest issues affecting our area.
Over the weekend I'll be spending time with my family and keeping a keen ear glued to the football commentary on BBC Tees as Middlesbrough travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the FA Cup. On paper it looks a very difficult afternoon for the Boro but here's hoping they can produce a 'banana skin' performance to cause the Premier League champions to slip!
On Tuesday I look forward to receiving the bi-monthly update on the housing development taking place at Swainby Road in Stockton. We are expecting a developer on-site in February as we look to build 174 new houses over the next five years to regenerate the area.
