After a busy start to the week I will have my regular catch up meeting with Beccy Brown, Stockton Council's Head of Communications.
Thursday brings an important appointment as I will meet with Council officers to be briefed on the latest situation relating to the Council's Medium Term Financial Plan. It is very useful to be kept right up to date on the latest fiscal challenges we are facing.
Later in the day I will be dedicating some time to my work as a governor at Norton Primary School. There will be a meeting looking at the current resources at our disposal and I will then be concentrating on matters relating to school improvement as we seek to attain the highest standards.
Over the weekend, I will be keenly listening out for the full time result as Middlesbrough take on Charlton Athletic at the Riverside. Boro sit just a point off the top of the Championship and it'll be vital to kick on and get the three points at the start of a crucial month for the club.
My working week will start on Monday morning as I meet with both the Council's Chief Executive, Neil Schneider, and the Deputy Leader, Councillor Jim Beall. At this briefing we will share with each other the latest update on issues across the Borough.
In the evening there is a special Cabinet pre-agenda meeting which will focus on budget matters to be considered before the full meeting later this month.
On Tuesday I will spend time in the office working on Council business before a late session where the Council Plan for the upcoming year will be discussed.
