Today I’m making the most of the opportunity to catch up on some important projects and paperwork in my office.
On Thursday I will be meeting with other representatives of the Tees Valley Land Commission at Teesdale Business Park. The group is chaired by the Mayor of the Tees Valley and was established to identify brownfield land across the Tees Valley that is in need of regeneration.
On Friday I had a meeting with the other Tees Valley council Leaders at Cavendish House in Teesdale. After that I met with the Council’s Chief Executive, Neil Schneider, and officers from Democratic Services to review the agendas of the first Cabinet and Council meetings following the summer recess.
At the weekend I will be keeping an eye on Middlesbrough as Preston North End take on Garry Monk's side at the Riverside. Boro have triumphed in three home games so far this season so I’m hopeful for more of the same against the North End on Saturday afternoon.
Next week I will be taking a few days’ holiday to spend with my family.
