It’s got cosy booths, a fully-stocked bar, plus two live bands and a cabaret-circus show – yes, the Festive Spiegeltent returns to Stockton High Street this week.
The Spiegeltent will be in place from Thursday to Sunday as part of the popular Stockton Sparkles Christmas festival.
Tickets for the live shows are on sale now and if you like going out as a group of friends you can also book a booth for four to six people, but they’re going quick.
Here’s what’s on and how to get tickets…
First up is motown and soul act More Commitments, who’ll be paying tribute to the sound of The Commitments on Thursday (December 2). They'll be supported by Marina Gears who covers all genres of music with a jazz twist. Tickets priced £12.50 standing or £50 for a booth are available here.
On Friday (December 3) there’s a festive feast of variety and cabaret in the shape of Festival Spectacular by London-based company The Black Cat Cabaret. It’s billed as “a night of riotous cabaret, jaw-dropping circus and live music with your award-winning host Dusty Limits.” Tickets priced £15 standing or £60 for a booth are available here.
And finally, Smoove and Turrell will bring their “Northern Funk” to the Spiegeltent on Saturday (December 4). Expect a contemporary fusion of funk, soul, northern soul, hip-hop and electronica. Tickets priced £15 standing or £60 for a booth are available here.
The trio of nights is being put on by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council in partnership with Ku Stockton.
Jimmy Beck of Ku Promotions said: “We’re proud and excited to see such a quality line-up of acts at this stunning venue in Stockton. The Festive Spiegeltent first came to the High Street in 2019, when we had Cattle & Cane on, and if that show is anything to go by then people are in for a real treat.
“What you’ll get if you come to the Spiegeltent is a great night out in a very different kind of venue with its own unique atmosphere. Its smaller capacity and booths make for a truly memorable experience and we’re just looking forward to welcoming people in really.”
Councillor Jim Beall, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure and Culture, added: “The Spiegeltent is a magical venue and we’re delighted to be bringing it back to Stockton High Street after its debut here a couple of years ago. We’ve got three great nights, two great bands, and one great cabaret-circus show!
“If you’re looking for a special night out this Christmas then you won’t want to miss this. There’s plenty going on during the day too, with free family activities including crafts, children’s theatre and story time sessions, a family variety show, and a tea dance.”
