Residents of Stockton-on-Tees will be given a chance to win free tickets for shows at Stockton’s newly restored Globe in an exciting monthly prize draw.
The Globe Free Tickets Draw, sponsored by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council for the residents of the Borough, will run for the next year and see a total of 500 tickets go up for grabs for a variety of top shows at the venue.
The draw will be run in partnership with the Globe’s operator, the world-renowned Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG).
Entries for the first one will open on Friday, June 4 and see residents get the chance to win one of 20 pairs of tickets for Status Quo’s show coming to the Globe next March, with tickets for more shows in the Globe’s packed 2021/22 calendar to be won in future draws.
Councillor Jim Beall, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure and Culture, said: “Completing the restoration of the Globe is a landmark moment and we’re now looking forward to the stars coming back to Stockton.
“We know that this has been a long time coming, and as a small thanks to our residents for being so patient we’re sponsoring this free ticket prize draw, which is exclusively for people who live in the Borough.
“ATG have put together a fantastic programme of shows packed with household names and great variety too. The calibre of these acts speak for themselves and I’m sure the lucky residents who win these free tickets will have a great night enjoying all the Globe has to offer.
“The venue is ready and now’s the time to get behind it. You talk to anyone over a certain age in this Borough and the chances are they’ll tell you of fond memories from the Globe’s heyday.
“It’s a huge pleasure to be working with ATG to bring big names and big shows back to Stockton, both for the older generation who remember the first time around and the younger generation, who will be experiencing it as new.”
Stockton Globe General Manager, Jo Ager, added: “We're over the moon to be partnering with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council on The Globe Free Tickets Draw. The good people of Stockton have been so patient with the restoration of this incredible venue that we are extremely proud of and we are so excited to help give something back! The lucky winners of the tickets really are in for a fantastic experience in a beautiful venue.”
