STOCKTON-on-Tees Borough Council is encouraging people to share their views on polling districts and places ahead of next year’s local elections.

The Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places will assess the suitability of those currently used in Stockton Borough, as well as their accessibility and facilities for voters.

The statutory review is required by the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013.

Residents, electors and individuals or organisations with expertise in access for people with disabilities are invited to comment.

The Council would also like to hear suggestions for alternative places that may be used as polling places, particularly where a mobile station is currently used.

Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: “Everybody should utilise their right to vote and that’s why we need to ensure polling districts and places have the best facilities for voters. If you have any suggestions don’t miss this opportunity to get in touch.”

Any comments can be posted to Julie Danks, Returning Officer, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, Church Road, Stockton, TS18 1LD. They can also be emailed to [email protected]

The deadline for making comments is Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Further information is available from the Council’s website at www.stockton.gov.uk/stockton-council/elections-and-voting
