school admissions

APPLICATIONS for primary school places across Stockton-on-Tees are now open for children starting school in September 2019.

If your child was born between September 1, 2014, and August 31, 2015, he or she will start primary school next year.

Parents and carers are able to select up to three school preferences, and can provide reasons for the application.

There is no automatic transfer from nursery to primary school, meaning you must apply even if your child attends a school nursery.

Councillor Ann McCoy, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “Securing your preferred primary school place for your child is very important to ensure they have the best possible start to education.

“To avoid disappointment I would urge parents and carers to take the earliest opportunity to register an application with our School Admissions Team.”

The deadline to apply is January 15, 2019, and any late applications will only be considered after those made on time have been processed.

Letters will be sent to parents and carers on April 16, 2019, to inform them which school has been offered to their child. Those who applied online will receive an email confirmation.

The easiest way to submit an application is via the online form at
