A CUTTING edge partnership set up to deliver back office services to Stockton-on-Tees and Darlington councils is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
And since its formation in May 2008, Xentrall Shared Services has clocked up £13.6million in savings – almost double its original target!
Along with the impressive figures, the quality and performance of services have improved, with both customer and staff satisfaction increasing over the same period.
Xentrall currently delivers ICT systems and support to 4,500 staff, manages a 15,000-strong payroll, processes thousands of invoices and manages a design and print studio.
Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: “Xentrall is an excellent example of a public sector partnership which compares very well to other private sector partnerships, many of which have failed over the same period.
“In 2008 it was seen as an ambitious move, but it has more than proved its worth with the financial and service rewards. We want to thank everybody who has contributed to its success.”
Councillor Bill Dixon, Leader of Darlington Borough Council, added: “Xentrall Shared Services has proved to be a fantastic example of partnership working that has not only saved money but also generated income.
“Our teams have won external accreditations for their work and the systems in place; and have a programme of staff training in place to ensure we stay ahead of the game. And I’d like to add our thanks too to all those involved in its continued success.”
