Young people interested in being an author, illustrator, librarian, book seller or publisher are being invited to a special event in Stockton Central Library.

On Tuesday 6 March, from 6pm to 8pm, anyone aged 16 to 25 years is encouraged to attend the ‘Careers With Words’ event and learn from a host of professionals working across various disciplines in the arts and written word.

The special guests include the author and illustrator, Simon Bartram, author and publisher, Gillie Hatton, bookseller, Mariana Muzinho, illustrator and image maker, Alan Vest and Children and Young Person’s Librarian for Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Lucy Carlton-Walker.

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “If you are interested in a career in the arts or creative industries then this free event will be a perfect chance to get a real taste of the range of jobs available plus you will get the chance to meet some fascinating professionals from across this diverse and exciting sector.”
