PRESTON Park Museum and Grounds is delighted to announce that their popular Folk & Farmers’ Market event is set to return.
Sunday 8 April 2018 will see folk music and fun family activities take over the park and fantastic local foodie delights from more than 30 stallholders including La Bella Bottega, The Clucking Pig and the True Tea Company will be on offer.
The visiting stalls are from the Northern Dales Farmers’ Market (NDFM), voted one of the finest farmers’ markets in the country by The Telegraph newspaper.
The market takes place between 10am and 4pm (last admission at 3.30pm) and entry is free with normal museum admission.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Norma Wilburn, said: “The Folk & Farmers’ Market is an increasingly popular event at Preston Park Museum and Grounds with its combination of music, food and family fun.
“It’s a fantastic way to celebrate the coming of spring in Stockton-on-Tees and we are all delighted by the partnership that the museum has with Northern Dales Farmers’ Market and their new, monthly market in the park.”
Among the musicians that are confirmed are acclaimed Irish folk singer Andy Broderick and Hull-born guitarist Steve Dagleish, who has played to sold-out venues across the country.
The museum is also putting on a range of activities for children and their families, including making their own musical paper shakers, leather stamping with Evancliffe Leathercraft, face painting and more.
This event is the first of the museum’s new partnership with NDFM, which will see their outstanding local food and drink producers in Preston Park every second Sunday of the month, through the spring and summer, starting on Sunday 13 May 2018.
Museum admission costs £2.50 for adults and child/concession entry costs £1.50. Family tickets for two adults and four children are available for £5.
