A Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council social worker is one of five people nationally to be shortlisted for a prestigious award.
Vicki Ingham, Reablement Assessment Manager, has made the final shortlist for the Adult Social Worker of the Year 2017.
The awards are open to all qualified social workers in England who have made a difference through their outstanding work with adults.
Since April 2016 Vicki has been instrumental in developing the integrated working arrangements between the Council and NHS – making sure residents are discharged safely and efficiently from hospital and helping them to live independently at home.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Health, Councillor Jim Beall, said: "Vicki demonstrates all of the skills and abilities that we could wish for in one of our Adult Social Workers. She is praised by colleagues and partners alike for her passion, enthusiasm and commitment to protecting our most vulnerable residents. She is an asset to Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. I wish her the best of luck at the awards ceremony on 24 November.”
Vicki said: "I'm honoured to be considered for the award, and to make the shortlist is a great achievement itself. This shortlisting is not only an accolade for me but for my team. I have fantastically supportive colleagues and managers, who constantly strive to provide a first class service.”
